Help Us Give Queenie the Second Chance She Deserves

We'd like you all to meet Queenie. She is a sweet and loving 6-month-old Chihuahua mix. Queenie was brought to our shelter on Monday night (5/18), after a Good Samaritan found her in a cage in the restroom at Lake Erie Bluffs in Perry. We immediately knew something was not right with Queenie and suspected mange. Our veterinarian confirmed that Queenie has demodectic mange (commonly known as demodex) along with a secondary bacterial infection of the skin. This innocent pup has started her treatment and is on the road to recovery.

Why are we sharing this you might ask? We need your help. We are currently caring for hundreds of injured, abused and unwanted animals, and with Queenie's need of more extensive medical attention and care, the expenses will pile up rather quickly. Can you make a donation to our Angel Fund and help us give animals, like Queenie, the extra care, medication and love they so desperately need? Your donation, no matter the size, will help us provide care to voiceless animals like Queenie.

Please donate now using our online donation form. When processing your donation, please select "The Angel Fund" under the Program section of the form. ALL donations made to our Angel Fund will cover Queenie's care. If we are able to raise even more than what is needed for Queenie, those donations will be put into our Angel Fund savings account and saved for the next animal in serious need.

Another way you can help is by identifying this dog and/or her previous owner(s). If you have any information regarding Queenie's previous owner, please contact our Humane Agent, Leanne, at (440) 951-6122, extension 105. All reports remain anonymous. While we understand that some extenuating circumstances may make it difficult for owners to keep their pets, it is very important that the proper steps be taken to ensure the animal is safe and that a responsible, loving family is found for the unwanted animal. Abandoning a scared, confused animal is never the answer. Please SHARE this post and help us find the owner who is responsible.

*Please Note: We are not accepting adoption applications for Queenie at this time. If you are interested in adopting Queenie, please follow our posts as we update our supporters on her progress. Once Queenie is healthy and available for adoption, we will then accept applications. Thank you for understanding.*
